The Vaccine Delusion

The truth will set you free, but first, it will make you miserable.

Unvaccinated children are healthier

Why am I amazed to see measles in the headlines? In the 1950s, when I was young, nobody got excited about measles. I caught it, most of my friends caught it. We stayed home for a few days and felt miserable. We got a fever, we got sniffles, we got a rash. And then it was gone. We went back to school, and they told us we were “immune.” Permanently.

That doesn’t happen anymore. Vaccinated kids are not fully immune because vaccine-induced immunity is temporary. And vaccinated populations get infected anyway because artificial immunity is never as good as the natural kind you get from the disease.

Why don’t doctors now tell parents what they told them then? That measles and other “childhood illnesses” were just that — events of youth that strengthen the developing immune system. Unpleasant but rarely serious events that make kids healthier. (Repeated studies show that acute, febrile [fever-attended] infections of childhood protect against cancer later in life.)

In fact, this year, from Jan. 1-Feb. 21, 2019, 159 individual cases of measles have been confirmed in 10 states by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This is within historical norms for the last decade. The measles cases/outbreaks this year are neither new nor unusual.

Over the past 10 years, the total number of children to die from measles in the US stands in the single numbers.

Yet, as of Nov. 30, 2018, there have been more than 92,844 reports of measles vaccine reactions, hospitalizations, injuries and deaths following measles vaccinations made to the federal Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System.

Our nation is in the midst of a vaccine epidemic. Currently, the CDC recommends that American children get 69 doses of 16 vaccines between birth and age 18. Health authorities abroad shake their heads over the huge number of vaccines given to American children. As a possible result, our kids are the sickest on the planet. Children in the US suffer a higher rate of chronic disease (cancer, diabetes, asthma, allergies, autism, depression, behavioural issues) than those of any other nation.

The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) of 1986 acknowledged that vaccine injuries and deaths are real and that the vaccine injured and their families should be financially supported. By 2018, the US Court of Claims had awarded nearly $4 billion to vaccine victims for their catastrophic vaccine injuries, although two out of three applicants were denied compensation.

When Congress passed the NCVIA and gave drug companies full immunity from injury claims, it also required the US Health and Human Services Department (HHS) to assure vaccine safety and file biennial reports to

Congress on its efforts to improve vaccine safety. A recent lawsuit filed by Children’s Health Defense forced HHS to admit that it has not fulfilled these duties even once in the 32 years since the NCVIA was passed.

Vaccine manufacture and sale is hugely profitable for drug companies. But are their products as good for us as we’re told? In the limited studies done, unvaccinated children appear healthier than their vaccinated peers: Fewer colds, ear infections, flu and less time out of school. Curiously, the US Government has never shown interest in conducting a thorough, large-sample study to compare the overall health of vaccinated and unvaccinated children.

A parent’s decision to withhold all or some vaccinations should be made from information, not coercion. Many parents, having done their homework, conclude that vaccines are more harmful than the diseases they purport to protect against. They have signed a vaccine exemption form (available in Rhode Island from the Department of Health) and filed same with their school, allowing their kids to attend classes.

Two sources of referenced information for parents are: Children’s Health Defense (childrenshealthdefense.org), headed by environmental lawyer/activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and National Vaccine Information Center (nvic.org), founded in 1982 by parents whose children were injured or died following DPT vaccine reactions.

Drug companies are leading the effort to eliminate state vaccine exemption laws. Legislatures across the US are beset with bills to deny parents this important choice for their children’s health. And yet, in a democracy, we choose which medicines to take; in a tyranny that choice is made for us.
